Vidre - Slide on the air / ULISSE - by Alitalia Inflight Magazine - 2018

From the smartphone displays, designed to “undergo” the “taps” or the “swipes” of our fingertips, to the screens of the TVs and other devices, passing through architecture and design. Multifunctional, sometimes interactive, the glass is the new material of the future, with a supply chain that keeps investing and aims at reaching perfection with ever thinner and more resistant glass used in any kind of field, including the leisure sector.

This is Vidre-Slide, the first slide totally made from glass, fruit of the partnerships between the Eckersley O’Callaghan working engineers and the CRICURSA constructors. Vidre-Slide is a 9-meter-long slide and it’s composed by two glass elements placed one against the other and held together by a steel base. The secret of its resistance lies in the curvature of the material, while the adhesives in silicon optimize its transparency.
